PTO
Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! The KP PTO is composed of caregivers and teachers who work together to enhance the KP experience for students and staff. ALL parents/caregivers of a current KP student are members of KP PTO.
This year KP PTO will continue to fund and host events such as the beloved Fall and Spring student mixers, and Educators and Staff Appreciation events. With your support and involvement, we hope to add some additional events to the calendar that will
- enhance our students’ experience,
- engage and involve caregivers into the KP community, and
- celebrate and support our teachers and staff.
However, we still have board positions and committees to fill. If you can help us organize and run events, please complete the volunteer form. If you are interested in a Board position, please email KPPTO678@gmail.com.
We hope you will join us in creating a memorable middle school experience for the KP community. It is work, but it is incredibly rewarding work.

KP PTO Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get involved? Here are number of ways you can get involved:
- Attend (in-person or virtually) a PTO meeting. Unless otherwise noted in the attached calendar, these take place on the second Thursday of each month.
- Email KP PTO at kppto678@gmail.com with any ideas or to volunteer for an activity.
- Answer the call when the PTO is looking for volunteers of time and/or contributions.
- Email KP PTO at kppto678@gmail.com if you own or work at a business that can offer donated/discounted services to the KP PTO throughout the year (restaurants, musicians, entertainment, printing, product creation/sales, etc).
- Attend a parents/caregivers night out to meet other community members.
- Whatever you can share whether time, financial contributions, or special skill sets, we would love you to let us know how you would like to be involved.
When are PTO meetings held?
Unless otherwise noted, PTO meetings are held at 6.30 pm on the second Thursday of each month. You can attend in person or virtually (links will be emailed in the school newsletter). The meetings in December, January, February are purely virtual. For the 2024-25 year, the meetings are scheduled for 9/12, 10/10, 11/14, 12/19 , 1/9 , 2/13, 3/13, 4/10, 5/ 8, 6/5.
How does the PTO communicate about events and activities?
You will receive emails from the PTO through the school about upcoming activities and calls for volunteers. However, you can also opt-in to receive information directly from the KP PTO by completing the member information form. Lastly, we have a bulletin board in the front entrance with information.
What does the PTO spend funds on?
In the past, donations to the PTO have helped us host dances for the students, support our student organizations at the school, and provide appreciation events for teachers and staff.
Can I just make a financial contribution?
We welcome any contribution, financial and/or time. If you would like to make a financial contribution, you can send cash or a check made out to KP PTO in an envelope addressed to the PTO and send to KP’s main office. Or you can send contributions by Venmo @kppto678.
What are parent/caregiver night outs?
These events are typically held monthly at an area establishment and are for parents and caregivers of KP students to get together socially. It is not a recruitment to volunteer or donate, just an opportunity to meet other members of our community. In addition, we plan to have a couple of family social events this school year, too.
What is Inspiration Inc.?
Inspiration Inc. is an exciting new school event where professionals within our community from various fields will share their expertise and experiences, providing students with valuable insights and inspiration for their future careers.
What is a Science Fair?
This exciting new event will invite KP students to examine a scientific problem of their choice by following the scientific method (observation, forming a hypothesis, experimentation, and analysis). Each participant will make a poster board showing their project. The final projects will be showcased in the school cafeteria on March 3, 2025.
